The Okanagan Firestorm Cheerleading’s Crossfire team is on top of the world after their latest competition.
The Crossfire were at the world cheerleading competition known as the Summit and won the international open level four division.
With the win, the Okanagan team joined a field of less than 10 Canadian teams to win a division at this event.
The team was the only group from BC this year, and according to the club, it is the second time a BC squad has won a title at the tournament.
Members of the team have been training since last June and previously finished in fourth place in the same division.
“They have worked hard this year training multiple times a week and giving up many normal life events to prioritize the team and this journey,” wrote the team.
The group is made up of 16 athletes whose ages range from 15 to 29 years old, all from the Okanagan.
