Madison Bowey, Kelowna Rockets' defenceman and captain, was announced as the Denny's WHL Player of the Week.
The Western Hockey League made the announcement Monday, honouring Bowey's excellent playing the previous week. In three games, Bowey scored two goals and had six assist, posting a plus-seven rating. The Rockets won all three games.
On Wednesday, October 1, Bowey had two goals and three assists, getting first star honours in the Rockets' 7-5 win over the Vancouver Giants. On Friday's game against the Silvertips in Everett, Bowey had two assists, one of which set up the overtime game-winning goal to make it 5-4. Finally, Bowey had an assist against the Seattle Thunderbirds on Saturday, helping the Rockets to their 6-4 road victory.

This is Bowey's fourth season with the Rockets. The 19-year-old from Winnipeg has had a strong start to the season, recording 11 points in his first four games. Through 205 career regular season games, Bowey has had 43 goals and 123 points.
In the 2013 NHL Draft, Bowey was a second round draft pick by the Washington Capitals and the 53rd overall pick.
