There was a bit of good news this week as four newborn seal pups were rescued by the Vancouver Aquarium.
A video has been posted to YouTube of one of the adorable baby seal pups being rescued near the Hadden Park dog beach. You can hear the pup fighting to get in the case but Aquarium workers manage to get him or her in safely. According to officials the some of the rescued newborns still had umbilical cords attached after being washed ashore on Tuesday.

Since June the Vancouver Aquarium Marine Mammal Rescue Centre has taken in 41 seal pups as their mom go off to forage, often leaving them behind. This year the pups are being named after elements of the periodic table of elements. The first pup found has been named Oxygen, the two males named Tantalum and Nobellium and the last male has been named Molybdenum. He has since unfortunately passed away.
