Families in Parks
Get the whole family dressed for winter and into the outdoors!
Join Regional Parks staff as they provide some free winter activities for the entire family at our ‘Families in Parks’ events. Activities take place between 10:00 am and 11:30 am and require pre-registration.
Sunday, January 25th we want you to have some ‘Frosty Fun’ at Mission Creek Regional Park, Springfield and Durnin Roads. Families should meet at the EECO (Environmental Education Centre for the Okanagan) before exploring the snow through various outdoor games. Then head inside for some warm cocoa and other family activities! This program is being offered as part of CATCH (Community Action Toward Children’s Health) ‘Unplug and Play Week’. Visit www.catchcoalition.ca for more.
Sunday, February 15th we’ll discover ‘Family Trees’ at Mill Creek Regional Park, just off Spencer Road in the Ellison area. During this family oriented nature walk, we’ll discover local tree families.
To register your family for these free events, or other ‘Families in Parks’ events, please drop in to the Environmental Education Centre for the Okanagan, email eeco@cord.bc.ca or phone 250-469-6139.
