They show focuses mainly on the Group of Seven and their contemporaries and the works included are strong examples of these artists’ production. Kelowna residents rarely have the opportunity to see works of this nature without long-distance travel. The curator, Christine Boyanoski, is an enthusiastic expert in this field. These works tell the story of an important chapter in the meta-narrative of the history of Canadian art. A full-colour catalogue accompanies the exhibition. Both it and the show are arranged by acquisition date by the institution. Arthur Lismer, Isles of Spruce, 1922, oil on canvas, 136 x 179 cm. Hart House Art Collection, University of Toronto.
