October is Women’s History Month. This event helps create a greater awareness of women’s contribution to Canadian society, and to create a greater appreciation of women’s achievements. Women have used their creativity and their ability to work collectively and collaboratively in the quest for equality.
The Kelowna Art Gallery and the Central Okanagan Women’s Resource & Education Foundation are collaborating on an exhibition this fall that honours and celebrates the 85th anniversary of the 1929 Persons’ Case, and Women’s History Month. The title of the show is The Power of Women’s Creativity: Past, Present & Future. It recognizes women’s use of creativity to create social change.
As Nellie McClung once said, “We must remember the past to understand the present and face the future”. What does this mean for you?
