According to DriveBC, Highway 97C was closed in both directions around 11:15 p.m. Tuesday night because of a vehicle fire. By midnight, crews had the highway partially re-opened as traffic was flowing westbound, while the eastbound lanes remained closed. By 1:00 a.m. Wednesday morning, crews had the highway open in both directions, but traffic was reduced to single lanes.

By 7:00 a.m. Wednesday morning, the highway was fully reopened heading westbound, but eastbound had a single lane open. Reports indicate that the occupants of the vehicle were not injured, but details have not been confirmed by RCMP.
