What do you always find yourself saying?
I’m headed to Knox if you want to join

If you could spend one whole day with anyone in the world who is currently alive, who would you select and why?
Ellen DeGeneres. She is so funny and does such great things for people. I really like it when they do the skits in the stores when people dance behind people or have mics and she tells them what to say.

If you could spend a day with any historical figure, who would you choose and why?
Whoever it was the invented post it notes….serious game changer!

Who inspires you?
Basically anyone that does something that I have always wanted to do. This inspires me to get myself in gear and DO IT too.

What are three things on your bucket list?
Do a figure Competition, attend an American/Grammy Music Awards show, and find Love

If you had an enormous yacht, what would you name it?
Diversity – But this would actually be an old wooden ship, not an enormous yacht.

If you could foresee a single day of your future in its entirety, what date would you select?
Possibly a move. I have lived here for 22 years and it would be nice to experience a new city…..someday

What are you passionate about?
Fitness. In my past I taught group fitness and when I get focused I become very passionate about pushing myself to achieve my goals

What has been your favourite day of your life, up to this point?
When I was in Ubud, Indonesia a few years ago it just happened to be celebration of life as three of their hierarchy had all recently passed. On massive platforms being carried through the city by the local people were decorated beautiful bulls, that inside had the bodies of those who passed, and were being cremated in the city centre. Everyone was celebrating and the streets were packed. It was very emotional and myself and all of the people that I was with could feel the power that happening around us that day. Many tears were shed, and not sure as to why, but I know that we were there to witness something very special to them.

What has been your proudest accomplishment?
Purchasing my homes. I was able to buy my first condo 11 years ago, and since then I now rent it and have moved into a bigger home.

Where is your favourite place to dine in Kelowna? What do you like about it?
I like Moxies. I like many things on the menu and has a great atmosphere. I go there often and I always seem to know a lot of people there. Oh and Mad Mango….mmmm curry bowl

What is your favourite activity or event in Kelowna? Why?
Playing baseball, and going to Falcons baseball games. Growing up my dad was a photographer for the Vancouver Canadians and would always make us wait outside after the games to collect player’s autographs on their cards….actually he still makes us do that!

We sell all kinds of Insurance products. Myself I specialize in Commercial Insurance

What is your mission?
I sell piece of mind. I want to be able to be there for my clients when they need me. At the time of a loss it can be very devastating and knowing that we will be there to protect their loss is something I love.

If you could achieve one thing within your field, what would it be?
This year the head of our company Scott Tannis surprised a presented a co-worker a “Star Card” acknowledging his hard work. Some sort of surprise recognition like this would be heartfelt and an amazing accomplishment.

Where do you want your business/organization to be in five years?
Being that I am an employee for Western Financial Group I really just want to continue to grow my book of business.

What three qualities do you feel that your business/organization exemplifies?
There are four actually: Truthfulness, Fairness, Value, and Loyalty

How does your business/organization impact the community?
Western Financial is very involved with the community with the initiative Support the Cause, which raises money that goes toward community infrastructure grants, student bursaries and other worthwhile endeavors that support public health, recreation and education. Western donates $50 per participating employee which is topped up by pledges employees personally gather from friends, family and clients. All the money goes to the Western Communities Foundation.

If you were trapped in an elevator with several wealthy investors from any field, which field would you want them to be experts in? What would say to them/talk about?
I would have to say real estate investors. I would like to be able to own commercial property someday so I guess that would be what I would like to talk and learn about how to set myself up to do that. However, I am sure that if it was Channing Tatum in the elevator we would find something to talk about as well!

If I could change one thing about Kelowna, it would be:
I wish there were more events and things to do for young adults in the evenings. I'm over going to night clubs, but don’t want to sit at home on a Saturday night either. More diversity.

What do you think makes Kelowna great?
Such an amazing lifestyle here it is tough to beat. I can be home from work, change, and at the top of Knox by 5:30 p.m. Everything is so close.

My choice for the Kelowna In Focus spotlight is:
Steve Harvey – Business Finders. Is a great business concept and really the first of its kind in Canada.
