Ryan Breitkreutz was born and raised in Vernon and after highschool went to study music at Hillsong College in Sydney, Australia. While there he was drawn to the visual arts programs, specifically television and media. He invested in his own camera with absolutely no experience, and began filming his covers of popular songs for YouTube. This short intro developed a ravenous appetite to improve in his craft, and soon he was spending hours reading photography and film blogs, watching online courses, and helping film students in projects. Ryan began shooting both photography and film for several different wedding studios in Sydney which he found to be an amazing environment to grow and develop as a photographer and visual storyteller. After building his skills he founded his own photography studio, Tailored Fit Photography. Ryan loves his job and loves being back home. If you were to receive any existing public award, what award would you like to win?
Nobel Peace Prize

If you could foresee a single day of your future in its entirety, what date would you select?
As morbid as it sounds, I think knowing the day I die would make life a lot simpler to plan and to live to the full.

What is your mission?
We create candid and iconic artwork and wedding imagery and artwork for our clients to remember their amazing day in a way that brings them back to that moment, time and time again.

Where do you want your business/organization to be in five years?
Ideally I would like to split the business 50/50 between wedding photography and humanitarian work (creating world class imagery and media for non-profits around the world to assist in their fundraising and public awareness)

Where do i see myself
So much can happen in 10 years time! My Dreams/Goals for 10 years - Married. 6 months in the Okanagan, 6 months traveling the world with non profit work. The chance to photograph a wedding in over 50 different countries. I'd love to try a stint as a food critic, that seems like the worlds best job. Mostly in 10 years I hope to have a great network of people in my life to share all these adventures with.

What do I value most in people?
Very tough question, and you'll have to indulge me for getting a tad philosophical and controversial. The trait I admire the most is integrity. The thing I find most interesting is a persons wildest dreams. I also enjoy finding out a persons talents and abilities. But none of those things determine a persons intrinsic value or worth - and so I would have to respond with the rather cliche but also true fact that people are valuable, regardless of anything they've done or can do - but based on the value of a God that cared enough to create them. But I digress.

The Most Defining Moment in my life
Again with the tough questions! At the risk of sounding religious and weird (Have you ever wondered why its weird anyways, seeing as everyone believes SOMETHING?) the most defining moment in my life was when I came to believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that as my creator and redeemer my life ultimately belongs to Him. Obviously that's the kind of decision that'll shape what you do and why you do it!

What makes you successful?
I would call myself not successful, but blessed. I've been blessed with a Canadian Citizenship and the chance to grow up in one of the richest nations in the world. I've had the access to education to learn the skills needed to build my business and turn my dreams into reality. I also have a great and supportive network of family and friends in my life to shape me and whip me into shape when I need it! Its so true that at the end of the day a person's success is never their own. Its only on the shoulders of others that we can learn, grow, and achieve success. So I'd say that although it took a ton of hard work to get where I am - it took a lot more work from a lot more people than just me!

How does your business/organization impact the community?
Once a moment has gone, our memories are all we have left. Our Wedding Photography is all about capturing the emotions behind those moments so that couples, friends and family can experience them over and over again.

If you were trapped in an elevator with several wealthy investors from any field, which field would you want them to be experts in? What would say to them/talk about?
I were trapped inside an elevator, I would like to have an investor in Elevators, and an investor in Elevator Maintenance/Servicing.
Depending on how long it took those two to fix the problem, I would also love to have Bill Gates in there too - mostly because I think he'd be an extremely interesting person to talk to.

If I could change one thing about Kelowna, it would be:
The traffic. Or rather, the traffic infrastructure.

The people. Unquestionably its all about the people who make Kelowna such a great place to live!
