If you could spend one whole day with anyone in the world who is currently alive, who would you select and why?
Wayne Gretzky because nobody thought he would amount to much due to his size and skating but he went on to prove everyone wrong and set records that will never be broken.

If you were to receive any existing public award, what award would you like to win?
Young Entrepreneur of the Year

If you could spend a day with any historical figure, who would you choose and why?
Winston Churchill for his leadership and interesting quotes.

Who inspires you?
Brent Pay: He is inspiring to myself and many others as he is one of the best real estate agents in Kelowna. He leads by example in a modest, respectful and honest way. Most importantly, he is never too busy to help anyone else out which is a quality I admire.

What are three things on your bucket list?
Travel Europe again
The Kettle Valley to Naramata bike trip
Drive across Canada/USA

If you had an enormous yacht, what would you name it?
Grundy’s Un-wined

If you could foresee a single day of your future in its entirety, what date would you select?
The day when professional female hockey players in Canada are paid!

What are you passionate about?
I am passionate about helping people achieve their goals whether that is in real estate or through coaching. I love to be able to contribute to their successes with my knowledge, skills and education. I feel very fortunate to have the abilities and capacity to do so.

What has been your favourite day of your life, up to this point?
It just happened this past August - when I completed my last Grundy’s Grind Female Hockey summer camp. For six years I have been offering camps for female players which has been truly fulfilling. After the camp, I had an outpouring of such genuine appreciation and gratitude from participants that were in attendance and from previous participants for what I created for female hockey players. It was a very special, powerful, and overwhelming moment where everything culminated to a realization that I have been able to touch so many lives.

What has been your proudest accomplishment?
I have two: 1) The day I graduated from an Ivy League School, Dartmouth College, and realizing I was going to play professional hockey in Switzerland right after. 2) The day I completed my Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA).

Where is your favourite place to dine in Kelowna? What do you like about it?
DeDutch! I will admit it, the Abby Pannekoek (#14 on the menu) is my guilty pleasure. It may also be because I usually go with my family and the staff are awesome!!!

What is your favourite activity or event in Kelowna? Why?
My favourite activity is to play Sunday night hockey or go road biking either in South East Kelowna or down Lakeshore Road. Biking helps me to stay active, I need my exercise!

Grundy’s Grind offers outstanding female development camps in the Okanagan area. We encourage female hockey players of all ages and skill levels to learn, challenge themselves and improve their game. We have instructed players from as far away as the Northwest Territories, Yukon,Calgary, Seattle and Idaho! Summer camps will be taking a hiatus due to my commitment to my real estate career however I will still be offering day camps, private lessons, or remote camps. I can still be found on the ice, giving back to the game, as the Female Development Coach for Kelowna Minor Hockey Association.

What is your mission?

If you could achieve one thing within your field, what would it be?
Establish the importance of hiring a real estate professional to help with such an important transaction as selling or buying a home. We have the expertise and training to ensure this transaction is performed with accuracy and professionalism.

Where do you want your business/organization to be in five years?
I would like to be recognized as one of the leading and most reputable real estate agents in Kelowna - offering exceptional individual service to my clients. I would like to be known as one of the best real estate agents and most innovative in the industry. In addition, I would like to be at the forefront of development for female hockey in Kelowna - growing the game so female players can have the same opportunities I was so fortunate to have.

What would you like to say to your employees/volunteers?
To my hockey coaches: Thank you for everything you do, my camps would never be as special without you being a part of it.

How does your business/organization impact the community?
In regards to real estate – I shout it far and wide that Kelowna is the best place on earth! We are so fortunate to be living in such a beautiful part of the world. I try to help people find a property that they can call home and to help them feel a part of our wonderful community!

What makes you successful? Tell us about it.
I believe what makes me successful is my underlying and constant drive to always be better, in whatever I am doing. It is within me to strive to achieve excellence in every aspect of my life. I know what it takes to reach the next level and not afraid of the hard work, dedication and long hours it takes to get there.

If you were trapped in an elevator with several wealthy investors from any field, which field would you want them to be experts in? What would say to them/talk about?
Everything Real Estate of course! I would most likely voice record them and ask them to share their secrets of success.

If I could change one thing about Kelowna, it would be:
To have more ice arenas! We have such a demand from hockey and other ice sports... there’s not enough ice to go around!

What do you think makes Kelowna great?
Kelowna offers just the right amount of the “city feel” coupled with small town ambience. Okanagan Lake is beautiful especially with being surrounded by orchards and vineyards. The golf courses and mountain resorts offer so many opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts! Our climate allows us to take advantage of all these wonderful activities every season of the year. This is why Kelowna is such a desirable place to live.

I would like to thank everyone who has supported me throughout my entire professional, athletic and academic career.
