In the summer season, Kelowna is well known for the hot sunny days, the crowded yet irresistible beaches, and the hordes of people flocking in from all over the country, just for a little taste of Canadian paradise, figuratively speaking…until now.
Residents and visitors will be treated to a few extra tempting morsels this summer, with the inclusion of a new, and somewhat famous, food truck to the street eats community in Kelowna. The brightly colored and extremely popular Vancouver food truck ‘Tacofino’ is setting up shop and looking to ‘taco’ Kelowna by storm!

Tacofino originated in Tofino, B.C., and is well known for tickling the taste buds of patrons, with their award winning cuisine. The company won Gold for best food cart in Vancouver Magazine’s 24th Annual Restaurant Awards, praised for there being “delightful, approachable food at Gold-winning Tacofino.”
Tacofino was also featured on the popular Food Network show ‘Eat St.’ and can be easily identified by their bright, color coordinated trucks. You will find tasty tacos at the orange truck, with the blue one serving up mind-boggling burritos. Both of the hunger-inducing vehicles feature fresh fish options such as tempura-battered ling cod or lightly seared sesame-soy albacore tuna, along with other spicy braised proteins to attract even the most skeptical food-truck foodie.
The company was one of many to bid on two vacant spots in the Kelowna vendor community. The winner of the second coveted corner, was the ever popular ‘Wafelicious’, but wait there’s more! Service Stars Food and Beverage Services, the owners of Wafelicious, are introducing another mouth-watering mobile to their repertoire at the ‘Stuart Park Mobile Food Vending Concession’.
‘Cinful Hotdogs’ made it’s Kelowna debut last January, during the ‘Ski 2 Sea’ race at city park, and are proud to have become a permanent fixture here for the upcoming summer season, serving up hot dogs, smokies and veggie dogs to passing patrons.

Street vendors are driving food consumption into the future, and they aren’t about to leave Kelowna behind. Look out this summer for the city’s own version of ‘Eat Street’ at Prospera Place, where various food trucks will be curbing appetites from Tuesday through Sunday all summer long! Get out and experience some of the best street food our delicious city has to offer.
