Contest Alert! Win Four Tickets to the K-Town Showdown

Experience the best BBQ that the Okanagan has to offer as 15 Okanagan chefs battle it out to be crowned the King of the Grill.

This is Kelowna’s only professional BBQ competition where 15 of Okanagan’s best chefs compete in the August heat. The event isn't all food though, as 5 live bands provide hours of entertainment while you sip on beer from Tree Brewing, and take in the Classic Car show and bartender competition. Tickets for the event are $25 each, but you could win four tickets, valued at $100!

This is a 19+ event to be held on August 23rd from 2pm to 10pm at Urban Distilleries parking lot in downtown North Kelowna. The tickets gain you entry to the event to enjoy the music, carshow, vendors and competition. Food samples are $2 and beverages are available for purchase. A portion of the funds raised will benefit the Central Okanagan Hospice Association.

We need to tell you about some rules so that you know how this contest will work. In completing the contest entry form, you agree to the rules and regulations below. Good luck!

• You must be nineteen years of age or older to enter.
• NO PURCHASE of any kind is needed in order to win.
• One winner will be selected from entries submitted through KelownaNow.com between 12:01am Monday, August 18, 2014 and 12:01pm (Noon) Thursday, August 21, 2014 for the prize. The winner will be announced on KelownaNow.com and on KelownaNow's Facebook and Twitter channels.
• The winner will be chosen at random.
• Limit of one entry per person, per prize.
• All visitors to KelownaNow.com are eligible to win (other than prescribed by age or by affiliation with excluded groups described below). Welcome to Kelowna Ventures Ltd., its assigns and representees are not liable for any failure with regard to execution of the contest or delivery of prizing.

KTown Showdown “Playing With Fire” Event Timeline

2 - 3 PM – Gates Open, start enjoying food samples, beverages, car show and the first of the live music.

3 - 4 PM – A Man Named Sue (Johnny Cash Tribute) takes the stage. Chef sampling, beverages and car show still available.

5 PM – Hip Replacements (Tragically Hip) takes the stage. Chef sampling, beverages and car show still available.

6 - 6:30 PM – The winner of the chef competition will be announced. Chef samples will be unavailable after this time but TNT Dynamite foods will be onsite to keep the deliciousness going!

7 PM – The Classic cars will roll out in a show, providing an amazing photo opportunity.

7:30 – 9:30 PM – Whiskey Dick will take the stage to take us dancing into the evening. Rivals Sports bar on Bernard will be offering drink specials for the after party. Plan a safe ride home, there will be a designated driver service available to get you and your car home.
