Winnipeg Police are investigating a gruesome incident Tuesday after a call of suspicious circumstances in a storage locker.

The employees called police, who found human remains believed to be from four infants found within the locker. Constable Eric Hofley spoke on the incident, saying that there's little information so far on the investigation. He wasn't sure of the other items in the locker, and said that it was “the state of the remains that drew attention to the employees.”

Investigators are speaking with several individuals about the incident. On possible charges, Cst. Hofley said that it would have to wait until the autopsy. Even if no foul play is found, he said that there would still be a charge of concealing human remains. Members of the Child Abuse Unit are assisting with the investigation.

“This event, tragic beyond belief, leaves many questions unanswered at this time.”
