The Vancouver Police Department has announced the names of its third Name the Puppy contest and they’re pretty darn cute.
The contest encouraged students from Vancouver schools in Kindergarten to grade 7 to submit names for the puppies. The two German shepherd puppies are just over two months old and will become crime fighters as soon as they are trained.
Previous winning names selected by children include Nitro and Diesel. The grade 6 class from Vancouver College had their name of Maverick selected for the black pup, while a grade 4 class from Kerrisdale Elementary named the brown puppy Griffin.
The winning classroom will get a chance to check out the Dog Squad facility, meet the puppies and watch a police dog demonstration.
