Saharan says the reason for the shoot was to show the courage and dedication behind the designs of Rupa and also to change the perception of beauty. Since Rupa’s attack in 2008 she has worked tirelessly to become financially independent, according to Saharan. It’s a stark reminder that women around the world face struggles unimaginable to many in other parts of the world, just because they are women.
