If you're looking for a winter holiday getaway make sure to attend the popular Winter Travel Event held at the Kelowna International Airport (YLW) on October 25th from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. The annual event attracts Okanagan residents who want to learn about what's new and exciting for winter vacation options.
“This is a fantastic event,” said Sam Samaddar, Airport Director. “We get a great turn-out from both our exhibitors and the public and there is a lot of excitement as we start to turn our attention to planning winter getaways that can include everything from cruises, beach holidays, to dog sledding adventures under the Yukon Northern Lights.”
Thanks to the support from the airport's aviation partners, YLW has an amazing line-up of travel prizes that are ready to be given away. This year there are five flights for two which include, an all inclusive trop to Ixtapa from Sunwing, air travel on Air Canada Rouge to Hawaii, tickets to any WestJet destination in Canada or the U.S; air travel to Puerto Vallarta with Transat Holidays/Nolitours, and a three night getaway under the Northern Lights with Air North, Yukon's Airline.
Prize ballots will be available at $5 for one ticket, $10 for three, and $20 for five. Proceeds from the draw go towards local charity, the Bumbershoot Childrens' Theatre. The draw for all prizes will be made at 3 p.m.
Guests will also have a chance to meet with carriers, hotels, resorts and travel agents. Information on sunny Caribbean destinations and travel tips will also be available.
