Ottawa Reporter Slammed by Anderson Cooper

A contributing reporter for the Sun News Network in Ottawa got some unwanted publicity this week after he lost his cool with American Journalist Anderson Cooper.

Vandon Gene has since deleted the tweets and video he posted to social media after he was upset that Anderson Cooper refused to take a selfie with him.

Gene asked Cooper to take a photo while he was on location for CNN covering the shooting at the Parliament Hill war memorial. Cooper said it would be inappropriate to do so and refused to take the picture.

Gene then went on a Twitter tirade firing back at Cooper but in the end his childish behaviour cost him more than just a missed opportunity. Sun News has fired him and Gene publicly apologised for his behaviour.

It’s a good example of what can happen when you act before you think, and in this case Gene might have trouble finding another job because of his actions.
