Spooktacular Pumpkin Walk at the Gellatly Nut Farm

Enjoy a night of Halloween fun on Sunday, October 26th at the Spooktacular Pumpkin Walk. It's the perfect time to prep for your night of trick-or-treating as you revel in a festive jaunt through the Gellatly Nut Farm Regional Park.

Carved pumpkins will light your way through the park and along the pathways in the nut orchard farm from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. If you would like to contribute your own spooky pumpkin to the event, drop off your carving at the park between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. Donations for the West Kelowna Food Bank are welcome.

“Families, schools, businesses and sports teams that want to show off their pumpkin carving creativity can enter the ‘best of’ competition for various categories including Scariest, Cutest, Funny and Most Original pumpkin. We’ve got some great prizes to award. And after the event, visit the nearby Cove Lakeside Resort for some warm beverages and treats,” said Communications Officer Bruce Smith. “We'll even have Halloween goodie bags to hand out for children.”

New this year, a pumpkin shuttle bus will be available to ease the traffic and parking for the event. Participants can park and lock their vehicle at George Pringle Elementary School at 3770 Elliot Road in West Kelowna. The shuttle will run approximately every half hour starting at 4:30 p.m. The last bus will leave the park at 8:30 p.m., returning to the school parking lot.

Traffic control attendants will be at the school and the park to help direct traffic and vehicles into appropriate parking areas. The event committee asks citizens to please not park on local streets as they are narrow and the vehicle congestion can pose a safety hazard for pedestrians and emergency personnel, especially with excited youngsters in costumes and others attending the event.
