Are you wondering how to take care of your kids if the teachers' strike continues into September? Here's our top places in Kelowna who are offering childcare as long as the strike lasts.

The YMCA of Okanagan has various childcare programs available Monday to Friday starting September 2. The Kelowna Family YMCA's camps run from 8:30am-2:30pm and those at the H20 Adventure + Fitness Centre run from 8:30-4:30. Before and after care is also available. These camps include active games, hikes, themed crafts, and swimming. Parents are urged to reserve as soon as possible, and they will be reimbursed if school starts on time.

The Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs are extending their hours of operation and offering full day camps as well. Although families already using their services are being prioritized, the Boys and Girls Clubs will be doing their best to accommodate additional families. Contact your local club or their administrative office at 250-762-3914 for more information.

Thrive Out of School Club will be starting their Thrive Strike Camp on Wednesday, September 3 at their various locations. While they cannot confirm activities and outtrips until closer to the date, they promise activity and excitement as usual.

Children's National Theatre School in Kelowna is offering fall camps for grades 1 to 6 for daytime, after-school, or both. They'll provide classes in French and Mathematics as part of their school subjects in the mornings, and afternoons will focus on different activities, both outdoor and theatrical/artistic. The morning is from 8:30am-2:45pm while the after-school program is from 3:00pm-5:30pm, with pick-up until 6:00pm.

The EnergyPlex Family Recreation Centre is continuing their summer camps into September to accommodate the strike. Drop off is between 8:45am-9:00am and the camps go until 4:00pm. Strike day camps are refundable if school goes back in. These camps include their trampoline gym, rock climbing, the indoor playground, crafts, and laser tag.

With all of these locations, please reserve as soon as possible as spaces are limited.
