Kelowna RCMP are searching for the thieves who broke into The Bay and stole over $170,000 worth of jewellery on August 19.

Two males and one female broke into The Bay at Orchard Park Mall at approximately 3:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 19. The suspects removed the locks from the Cooper Road entrance with tools and immediately proceeded to the jewellery section. There, they smashed the glass cases of the higher-priced jewellery and watches, stealing over 130 pieces of jewellery. The approximate retail value of the stolen pieces is $176,0000.

The thieves then fled in a vehicle with a body style similar to a Jeep Cherokee, which was driven by a male who had waited in the car. It appears that the thieves only spent approximately a couple minutes inside the store.

The first male suspect is described by RCMP as short in stature with a brown jacket and grey baseball cap. His face was hidden by a cloth. The second male's face was also covered with a cloth, and he was taller in stature and wearing black pants and a grey top. The female suspect was slender in a black top, black pants, and black cap, and she wore a light-coloured face scarf.

The getaway vehicle is not confirmed as a Jeep Cherokee, but had a similar body style, particularly the front grill. It was lighter in colour, though not white, with a sunroof. The vehicle did not have a front license plate.

The stolen items include Movado Brand watches; an 18K white gold diamond cluster ring; Bulova Ladies bracelets; Bulova Mens watches; various diamond rings; Bulova Ladies diamond, steel and white watches; sapphire necklaces and rings; ruby rings; and various 14 K gold and white gold diamond earrings and pendants.

The police were waiting for descriptions for the suspects in the robbery before releasing the information on this break and enter.

Investigation is ongoing, and the RCMP are asking the public with any information related to the incident to contact Cst. De Jong at 250-762-3300. To remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, leave an online tip, or text your tip to CRIMES (274637) ktown.
