Kelowna Power Outage Planned for Sunday

FortisBC is planning a power outage for Sunday, September 14.

The outage will occur from 4:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m., affecting approximately 360 customers. The approximate affected areas will be:

  • Ethel Street from Saucier Avenue to Leon Avenue
  • Leon Avenue between Gordon Drive and Ethel Street
  • Gagnon Place
  • Laurier Avenue between Gordon Drive and Ethel Street
  • the south side of Harvey Avenue between Gordon Drive and Ethel Street.

The outage is for maintenance to repair buried electrical distribution lines.

FortisBC recommends using surge-protecting power bars to protect electronics such as TVs, PVRs, and computers, conserving your cell phone's batteries, and locating/learning how to operate the manual release lever for electric garage door openers.
