The Kelowna City Council will vote Monday to consider rezoning city-owned lakefront properties to make a park.
The new plan would rezone 12 city-owned lakefront properties from residential land use to park use at Pandosy Waterfront. Redeveloping this area has been discussed for more than 10 years, and this recent decision is a result of the input received during the Pandosy Waterfront process in January.

The Official Community Plan amendment would rezone the properties on Abbott Street north of Cedar Avenue, recognizing a need for waterfront connection in the future and continuing support for the Kelowna Paddle Centre.
The chosen design was generated by volunteers from the Kelowna community, and the Kelowna City Council will proceed with it without the sale of the two waterfront lots on the north end of the site.
