Those at the Kelowna Fire Department are switching up their normal uniform for something a little more...pink.

Until October 15, all members of the Kelowna Fire Department will be wearing special black t-shirts with pink emblems to show support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

“The Kelowna Fire Department and Kelowna Professional Firefighter's Association are always happy to partner with the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation to raise awareness,” says Jason Picklyk, Kelowna Firefighter.

It's estimated hat 24,400 women and 210 men in Canada will be diagnosed with breast cancer this year, and that 5,000 women and 60 men will die from it.
