Kelowna Flightcraft has been awarded a contract to upgrade the interior of the entire WestJet fleet of B737 aircrafts.
The program will include upgrading the interior of the B737-600, 700 and 800 models and will see the removal of existing seatback monitors. The team at Flightcraft will install state of the art wireless entertainment systems, which will also provide internet connections accessible with in seat power. Flightcraft already provides WestJet with Structure Maintenance Visit services as well as other services.

The full production and implementation of the program will commence in January, 2015 and is expected to run continuously until all 100 aircraft modifications are complete. According to Grant Stevens, Director of HR with Kelowna Flightcraft, the job will take about two and a half years to complete. On average it will take three weeks to complete the installation project per plane. Stevens says over the two and a half years there will be a minimum of three aircraft at the facility at any time as Flightcraft provides nose to tail service.
The contract is expected to add 60 additional jobs at Kelowna Flightcraft and the company is still looking to hire 30 skilled trade workers. For more information on applying for a position with the contract visit the Kelowna Flightcraft website.
