Grants Available for Community Development Initiatives

The City of Kelowna is making strides towards the development and well-being of youth in our community. On behalf of the City, the Central Okanagan Foundation will administer $80,000 in community social development grants and $22,000 in grants to address the sexual exploitation of youth.

Central Okanagan Foundation encourages registered charities and non-profit organizations interested in applying for either a community social development grant or a grant to address sexual exploitation of youth to attend an information session on Thursday, January 22nd at 1:30 p.m. The information session will be held in the Pacific Safety products boardroom at the Rotary Centre for the Arts, located at 421 Cawston Ave.

The session is important for those interested in applying for the grants, as it will cover eligibility requirements and the application process. Program updates that could impact the application process and evaluation will be reviewed.

If you would like to register for this event, contact Cheryl Miller, Director of Grants and Community Initiatives for the Central Okanagan Foundation at cheryl@centralokanaganfoundation.org. You may also call Cheryl at 250-861-6160.

Community Social Development Grants support prevention-orientated programs that are designed to improve the quality of life for Kelowna residents.

To download the application form, visit the City website.

Applications are due at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, February 27th, 2015. Completed applications should be dropped off at the Central Okanagan Foundation office, located at 225-1889 Springfield Road.
