“On behalf of St. Albert City Council and all St. Albertans, we extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of RCMP Constable David Wynn,” said Mayor Nolan Crouse. “We join you in mourning his passing as we struggle with the senselessness of his death. Policing is a noble profession, where ordinary people do extraordinary things to help keep our communities safe. Our thoughts are with RCMP Constable Wynn's family as we collectively grieve.”

Spectators are encouraged to wear red and asked to stand behind the barricades during the procession.

Those who wish to pay their respects to the late Constable have the opportunity to either e-mail their condolences or sign a memorial book in the lobby of St. Albert Place. The memorial book will be given to RCMP Constable Wynn's family in honour of his memory and can be signed from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., Monday to Friday.

In addition, a live broadcast will be televised of the funeral beginning at 1:30 p.m. Visit the City of St. Albert website for the live web-based stream.

Remembered as a brave hero, the father of three was shot just outside of Edmonton at approximately 3:00 a.m. on Saturday January 17th.

Meanwhile, the Edmonton, Alberta RCMP released a statement on behalf of the family of Auxiliary Constable Derek Bond, expressing their deepest sympathy to the Wynn family during this difficult time. Constable Bond was the second officer shot on Saturday the 17th. According to RCMP, his recovery is progressing.
