Support Pours in From Around the Country for Murdered Family

The family of the murdered woman and children from Tisdale, Saskatchewan have been overwhelmed by support that has flooded into them from across the country.

Latasha Gosling and her three children were murdered in the small community in northeastern Saskatchewan on Tuesday, April 21st in what police are calling a murder suicide. The family was killed by a male suspect who was later found dead in a home in the nearby city of Prince Albert. An infant was found alive when the dead man’s body was recovered, luckily uninjured.

According to Latasha’s cousin Tim Funk, a Go Fund Me account was started to help pay for expenses for the family and her six month old child, the sole survivor of the murder-suicide. Funk’s original goal was to raise a modest $5,000 to pay for funeral costs, but within a few hours that goal was smashed as donations have come from all over North America.

“We have received donations, likes, and shares from BC to NS, and as far away as Texas and Los Angeles,” said Funk. “It comforts me personally to know there has been so much good coming out of such a horrible tragedy. With the funds we plan to absorb any costs that may come our way, and any leftover funds will be placed into a trust fund for the surviving child.”

The Go Fund Me campaign has raised over $35,000 and continues to climb as people who are touched by the tragedy continue to give.

“We the family of Latasha and the kids would like to take a minute to thank everyone for their support in these trying times,” adds Funk.

The body of Gosling and her three children, all under the age of nine, were discovered in a mobile home park at 1:00 a.m. after a concerned family member could not reach her. The small town of 3,500 people, located 200 kilometres east of Saskatoon has been rocked by the mass murders and community members have come together to support one another.
