Two days after her birth, the royal baby’s name has finally been announced. Kensington Palace made the announcement on Monday, saying that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are delighted to say that their daughter is named Charlotte Elizabeth Diana, a nod to both the Queen and William’s late mother. Charlotte is also the feminine form of Charles, the Prince of Wales.
The baby’s official title will be Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte of Cambridge.
The royal family is delighted with the birth. This newest princess is now fourth in line for the British throne, behind her grandfather, father, and older brother George.
