An Israelis student has produced a short film and designed objects that will hopefully provoke conversation about the constant need to be connected.

Naomi Kizhner calls herself a “trend theorist that looks to define the new black” by designing and practicing escapism and minimalism every day. Her most recent project looks at the future of depleting resources and the length that people will go to find alternative ways of harnessing power.

“The suggested solution to the dilemma is based on the idea of biological wealth, harvesting energy directly from the body,” said Kizhner of her project. “Using invasive gold & biopolymer devices that must be embedded into the surface of the skin, simple movements performed by the subconscious are fully utilized.”

Her designs consist of three designs, the Blood Bridge, the E-Pulse and the Blinker. One implant is place across the bridge of the nose, another along a vein in the arm and the third down the back of the neck. While this technology is not likely to happen, it’s an interesting concept that is producing a conversation about where the future could force our dependency on electronics.
