People at California’s UCLA campus are cleaning up Wednesday morning after a water main burst, flooding parts of the campus and Sunset Boulevard.

Over eight million gallons of water spewed out onto the streets leaving people trapped in their vehicles. The break caused a massive hole on Sunset Boulevard along the north side of the university campus and evacuations and road closures were issued as a precaution.

A geyser of water can be seen from the 93 year old burst pipe, as people posted photos of the mess to social media. While some had fun in the millions of gallons of water, reports indicate at least five people needed to be rescued.

It took about three and a half hours for crews to shut off the water, which occurred during the city’s worst drought in history. The cost of the damage to both the street and university has not yet been released.
