Diner en Blanc Okanagan Sells Out Almost Immediately

If you wanted to take part of the 2014 Diner en Blanc – Okanagan you’re out of luck as the 850 seat event is sold out.

Registration tiers began last week for the second annual event which will take place at a secret location on July 10th. The global event attracted more than 600 guests last year to “The Point in Kelowna’s City Park” and with even more people attending this year it is expected to be a memorable soiree.

Those who have registered for the event will be told the location of the affair less than an hour prior to the commencement, which will see a sea of people dressed in all white whisked to the special location for dinner, drinks and a party.

Diner en Blanc promotes elegance, friendship and gallantry true to tradition as bystanders will witness groups of people gather at specific rallying points across the city. These groups will then converge on one of the most beautiful settings in a public space, either on foot or by other organized means of transportation.

Guests are asked to dress elegantly in white, from head to toe, bring their own epicurean feasts, tables, chairs, fine china, silverware and white tablecloth. Over the course of the evening, the diners eat and celebrate amid live music, dancing, complete with festive white balloons.

Diner en Blanc will celebrate its 25th anniversary this year, with its roots beginning in 1988 in Paris. The event attracts more than 10,000 people each year and is celebrated in over 50 cities around the world. For more information about the Okanagan event visit the official website.
