Flash Flooding in Kamloops Prompts Residents to be Evacuated

Some wild weather has hit Kamloops and resulted in hail and flash flooding in some areas.

The storm has caused localized flooding in the areas of Oak Hills Trailer park and residents are currently being evacuated. According to the City of Kamloops, approximately two to three feet of water and debris has collected in the area, prompting the evacuation. The City of Kamloops is establishing an Emergency Reception Centre at Interior Savings Centre Parkside Lounge and is directing all Oak Hills residents to register at this location.

The City of Kamloops has activated its Emergency Operations Centre to a Level Two status as it manages this event. A full complement of Emergency Service personnel and City staff are on scene. Further information will be provided as the City continues to assess the situation. No injuries have been reported.
