Kamloops Fire Rescue had to be sharp this morning after responding to a call of an overturned semi near Guerin Creek.
According to Platoon Captain Will Harlock, one engine and a rescue truck responded to the incident that occurred just before 8:55 a.m. Harlock adds that the semi-driver had a medical issue that caused him to flip the vehicle.
"It sounds like he may have had a medical issue and that's what caused him to go to the side of the road."

The incident left traffic flowing as no other vehicles were impacted. Harlock mentioned the only problem was the possibility of leaking diesel fuel.
"It wasn't very bad because he was in the ditch as you saw through the pictures. The only thing that we did was hug the curb lane in the wrong direction to have our vehicle access his vehicle because of the fear of diesel fuel spilling into the ditch."
Harlock went on to say the driver involved appeared to okay after he was checked by paramedics.
"He appeared to be okay, the paramedics were on scene in between our two vehicles. We assisted them out, they checked him over, and he remained on the scene after ambulances left."
