Rescue Crews respond to vehicle that crashed into backyard of Westsyde daycare

Kamloops Fire Rescue, Kamloops Emergency Health Services, and Kamloops RCMP were called out to Collingwood Drive in Westsyde today to deal with a vehicle driving through the backyard of a daycare.

According to Cpl. Jodie Shelkie, the driver may have had a medical incident occur which caused them to smash through the fence just after 7 a.m.

"EHS attended... It may have been medical, but I don't know that," said Shelkie.

Shelkie mentioned that the incident was not suspicious in nature and alcohol was not involved.

"We did attend to assist KFR and EHS, but it was nothing suspicious."

Shelkie went on to say that no one at the daycare was injured as a result of the incident.

"Nobody was injured at the daycare or anything like that. I don't even know if it breached the fence or not."

NowMedia has reached out to Kamloops Fire Rescue and will update the story when more information is available.
