Friends of the South Slopes Society (FOSS), along with local MP Ron Cannon, announced on Wednesday morning that the Conservative Government provided $21,000 in funding through the National Trails Coalition. The funding grant was announced at the East trail-head on Stewart Road in Kelowna’s north end.

Aside from facilitating repair efforts, the funding will also help the organization with their Adopt a Trail Program and to increase community engagement.
The funding "help us better leverage the hours of volunteer work donated each year by local individuals and businesses through our Adopt a Trail program,” read a FOSS Facebook post.
The funding will be matched by FOSS, however; the organization is seeking out donations and other grants to help offset the costs.
The Friends of the South Slopes Society is a volunteer organization that promotes outdoor recreation by maintaining trails in the region.
