UPDATE:
According to Corporal Joe Duncan with the RCMP, the package found at Sears was a nylon, lunch-box type bag. There were no explosives found inside.
When the employee found the package it was on fire. The employee extinguished the fire before calling the cops.

The suspicious package found at the Orchard Park Shopping Centre on Wednesday was examined and destroyed.

Police confirmed that a suspicious package has been located and destroyed by the RCMP Explosive Disposal Unit (EDU). Following the destruction of the package, an extensive search of Sears and the entire mall was conducted. No other devices were located, but the investigation is ongoing. RCMP did not disclose what exactly was inside the package.
Kelowna RCMP is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a potential suspect caught on camera.

The suspect is described as Caucasian, 5’9 to 6’0 tall, and average build. He was wearing glasses, a dark jacket, and a dark baseball cap with white lettering on the front. As well, he was carrying around a dark backpack.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300.
