B.C. Showcases Okanagan Businesses in Monthly Feature

Serving Okanagan families, communities, and workers, several local companies have made the list for April’s B.C. Job Makers.

B.C. Job Makers are showcased as part of an entrepreneurial initiative to increase awareness of local businesses and to inspire other community members to start their own projects.

The four companies profiled this month include Great Bear Paleo Bites in Oliver, Building Blocks Educational Child Care in Kelowna, the BX Press Cidery in Vernon, and International Bar Coding in Penticton.

Great Bear Paleo Bites,a gluten-free snack company in Oliver, provides tasty and nutritious treats for everyone in the Okanagan.

“Inspired by the great bears of BC’s rugged wilderness, our bites are Paleo friendly, gluten-free vegan nutritional snacks. They provide extreme natural nutrition for the grizzly within,” said Tracy Lydiatt from Great Bear Paleo Bites.

Here in Kelowna, Building Blocks Educational Child Care provides pre-schoolers with an enriched educational, artistic, and social experience.

“B.C. Job Makers are building a diverse and strong economy in the Okanagan. The stories of these individuals and previous Job Makers profiled offer British Columbians the chance to learn about successful businesses that are creating jobs all around the province,” said Shirley Bond, Minister of Jobs, Tourism and Skills Training and Minister Responsible for Labour.

If you run a company, or know a company or person you think should be featured as a B.C. Job Maker, contact the provincial government at bcjobmakers@gov.bc.ca.
