A local Kelowna company is inviting the public to come throw out their junk for Earth Day.
The World’s Largest Junk Removal Service, 1-800-GOT-JUNK?, is asking citizens to bring their unwanted electronics to 1000 KLO Road, Okanagan College, Lot four for a free disposal event.
From 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, the public can bring the following items for a free disposal service:
Donations of non-perishable items will also be accepted for the Kelowna Food Bank, and on-site shredding of confidential documents will also be available and provided by Okanagan Paper Shredding.
This year will be the eighth year that 1-800-GOT-JUNK? has offered free electronic recycling in recognition of Earth Day.
In 2014, the Kelowna recycling company and their partners recycled six tonnes of electronics, collected 240 pounds of food, garnered over $300 in cash for the food bank, and shredded two tonnes of paper.
