The streets of Rutland were busy Saturday afternoon with an amazing turnout for the Vaisakhi Parade.
Hosted by the Okanagan Sikh Temple and Cultural Society, the Vaisakhi Parade hit the streets on Saturday, filling Rutland with bright colours and festivities.
Vaisakhi Day is celebrated worldwide as one of the most important festivals in the Sikh calendar, and it marks the day in 1699 when Guru Gobid Singh created the Khalsa brotherhood.
Everyone was welcome to the 5th annual parade in Kelowna, and this family-oriented event energized the crowds with its decorative floats and enthusiastic participants.
