One of Kelowna residents’ favourite community events is coming up soon.
The 56th annual Rutland May Days will be May 15-17 at Rutland Centennial Park. This annual event is filled with fun, including a pancake breakfast, community market, a new imagination market for kids, and live outdoor entertainment each night. The annual parade will be at 11 a.m. on the Saturday for all Kelowna residents to enjoy.
Most significantly, the event will feature a new midway this year with Shooting Star Amusements taking over. Shooting Star will bring Kamikaze and the Zipper, as well as a Sizzler, Spider, Bumper Cars, Ferris Wheel, Berry Go Round, Zero Gravity, and Tilt a Whirl. For the younger kids, the fair will have Helicopters, Elephants and Jets, Barrel of Monkeys, Go Gater Coaster, Kiddie Car Ride, Space Train, and Hello Kitty.

All day wristbands for the rides are currently on sale, and if you buy them now until May 12th, you can save $10. The wristbands will be available as supplies last at Cooper’s Foods on Highway 33, Hollywood Shoes, Urban Fare, and Uptown Rutland Business Association (URBA) office. The wristbands are $30 in advance or $40 on site. The midway will also have a brand new location at Roxby Park.
The midway will open on Friday, May 15th at 3 p.m. and close at 10 p.m. On Saturday, the midway will be open from 11 a.m to 10 p.m., while Sunday’s hours are 12 noon to 5 p.m.
URBA is still taking applications for the parade, which are available on their website. For more information on all the events and fun, check out the URBA website.
