Coming home with a haul of medals, Okanagan College students shined at the annual Skills BC provincial competition this month.
The event was held in Abbotsford with the College taking home half a dozen medals including two gold. The College’s Nathan Schulte took gold in Plumbing and Ethan Delichte also won gold in Automotive Service Tech, both outperformed competitors from across the province and will vie for the national title in their respective categories.

Daniel Forbes won silver in Automotive Collision Repair and bronze was won by the following apprentices: Samantha Wardrop in Aerospace Technology, Maxwell Anderson in Automotive Service Tech, and Nathan Barg in Cabinetmaking.
“I’m a very competitive person and I’ve played sports my whole life so I was excited to go up against the rest of the province’s apprentices,” said Schulte. “It was really a lot of fun and I knew that no matter what the outcome, it would be a good experience.”
Schulte and Delichte will head to Saskatoon in May to complete in the national competition. Saskatoon is Schulte’s hometown and he’ll have a special advantage as his parents will be on hand to watch him compete.
