Lakeshore Road to See Finishing Touches

Motorists can expect a few more days of construction and traffic delays, as the final layer of pavement will be put down on Lakeshore Road.

Beginning at 6:00 a.m. on Friday morning, final paving will be underway between Cook Road to Lexington Drive, including the Cook, Truswell, and Lexington intersections.

The work is expected to continue until Sunday, May 24th at 7:00 p.m.

On Friday, there will be a southbound lane closure from Cook Road to Mission Creek Bridge from 6:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Residents requiring access to Truswell Road West and Capozzi Road will have to detour on Barrera or Cook Roads to Gordon Drive, then to Lexington, and then via Lakeshore Road to access Truswell from the northbound lane.

Between 1-3 p.m., delays are to be expected at the Cook Road Boat launch while paving in the vicinity is complete. Boaters may be asked to wait until the new pavement can accommodate boat trailer traffic.

On Saturday, northbound lane closures from Cook Road to Mission Creek Bridge will be in effect from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The southbound lane will remain open with access to residence and businesses.

Lastly, on Sunday, May 24th and Sunday May 31st, lane restrictions and one-way traffic between Mission Creek Bridge to Lexington Drive roundabout will be in effect from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Detours in the area will be marked accordingly.

Sidewalks will remain open and businesses will remain accessible during construction. Traffic control personnel will be directing motorists and pedestrians.

The paving will complete the final touches of last year’s $11 million-bridge replacement and transportation improvements.
