Update:
Kelowna RCMP Constable Kris Clark has since confirmed that the teenager struck by the truck was in fact getting off of a public transit bus, and not a School District 23 school bus.
Original Story:
A teenaged boy was taken to hospital after he was hit by a pickup truck, while on his way home from school Thursday afternoon.
According to RCMP Constable Kris Clark, a 15-year-old boy was getting off a bus just before 4:00 p.m. on Thursday afternoon, when he was struck by an oncoming Ford 350 truck on Chute Lake Road near Chute Lake Crescent.

The boy exited the school bus with a skateboard in his hands; however, as he went to cross the street in front of the bus, Clark said the young boy was riding on the skateboard.
It was as he crossed the street that the 15-year-old was hit by the oncoming vehicle, struck near the passenger-side wheel of the truck.
The boy was transported to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle remained on scene following the incident and is cooperating with police.
B.C. Ambulance, Kelowna Fire Department, and RCMP responded to this incident.
