The Okanagan Fruit Tree Project has taken root in Kelowna. This volunteer-based organization began four years ago out of a desire to gather the local fruit that was falling prey to the wind rather than being harvested for those who could use it. Now they pick up to and sometimes in excess of 1,000 pounds of fruit per week. Lauren Hjalmarson spoke with Casey Hamilton about how the Project got started and where things are at now.
