Popular Wine and Food Festival Returning to Silver Star Mountain Resort

The third annual Silver Star Summer Wine and Food Festival is expected to boast the best of the Okanagan in a three-day festival for the senses from August 7th until the 9th.

The festival will kick off on Friday, August 7th with a unique dining opportunity with Vancouver Chef David Hawksworth. Festival goers will also have the chance to attend wine and food seminars, as well as art gallery viewings. Hiking, mountain biking, and wildflower tours will also be available.

The main event will be the popular Mile High Wine and Music festival held on Saturday, August 8th. At this event, guests will have the chance to sample an assortment of new vintages from more than 20 Okanagan wineries and snack on Canadian-made cheeses.

“To experience the colours and charm of Silver Star in the summer needs to be on every visitor’s Okanagan bucket list,” said Blair Baldwin, General Manager, The Okanagan Wine Festivals Society. “This resort delivers an iconic Canadian alpine experience and when you match their great village, shops and restaurants with the Okanagan wine industry, it really is a treat to come up and stay.”

Mile High Wine and Music will take place from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Main Street in Silver Star’s mid-mountain village.

“Mile High is definitely a highlight of the season,” said Ian Galbraith, Summer Business Manager for Silver Star. “It’s always an afternoon of great music and smiles all around. People dance, drink wine and enjoy the company of friends on our beautiful mountain. We’re always pleased to work with the Okanagan Wine Festivals Society to host this super fun event.”

Accommodation and ticket packages are available and can be purchased online.

The Okanagan Wine Festivals Society is responsible for the development of the wine tourism sector in the Interior of British Columbia.
