Crews respond to Glenmore structure fire

The Kelowna Fire Department (KFD) was called into action Saturday evening to take down a structure fire.

Just before 9 p.m., crews responded to reports of a building on fire in the 2100 block of Glenmore Road North.

The Glenmore Landfill is located in the 2100 block area of Glenmore Road North but reports have not yet confirmed the structure was a landfill building.

Smoke was visibly exiting the rear end of the structure when firefighters arrived but the blaze was quickly extinguished.

According to KFD Platoon Captain Dennis Miller, the cause of the fire is yet to be determined but is not considered to be suspicious at this time.
