Man Charged for Murder After Altercation Over Taxi in Vancouver

Almost one year after the fact, Vancouver RCMP have now laid charges against a 23 year old Burnaby man who was involved in a stabbing at Granville and West Georgia Street that has left one man dead.

Shortly after 11:00 p.m. On February 9th, 2014, a taxi driver at Granville and West Georgia Street got into an argument with two men.

A passenger got out of the cab and joined in the dispute. The argument quickly escalated into a fight between the two men and the passenger. The incident resulted in the passenger being stabbed.

Upon arrival at the scene, police found the victim unconscious on the sidewalk suffering from a life-threatening stab wound. He was rushed to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

Initially, police arrested two men who were believed to have been involved in the incident. Both men were released pending further investigation.

Kenneth Bryson Williams has now been charged with one count of second degree murder and has been held in custody pending his next scheduled court appearance on November 28th at 9:30 a.m.
