The Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit BC (CFSEU) rolled out its new End Gang Life campaign on Tuesday with the hopes of deterring criminals from organized crime.

BC’s anti-gang squad has introduced new videos that include testimonials from a parent that lost her daughter because of gang involvement. As a deterrent to women in BC the video shows the dark side of gang involvement and the realities of gang life as opposed to the myths.
CFSEU-BC media communications officer Lindsey Houghton introduced the latest End Gang Life series called Myths and Realities. The collection of videos highlights the pain and suffering and the effects of gang life on parents and family members as well as the community.
“We need to have a frank conversation about women in gangs if we hope to prevent gang violence involving women,” said Houghton about addressing the so called taboo subject. “Let’s talk about it, let’s get to the root of the problems so more kids don’t die on the street.”
The new messages include the murders of women, high school kids and those who are exposed to gang life at a young age. The previous End Gang Life campaign highlighted the deadly consequences involved with gang life. These new messages take a completely different look at the ‘glamourous life’ and how the families are affected as the myths are dispelled.
The videos and information brochures are available on the CFSEU-BC website for anyone interested in viewing or sharing them. CFSEU-BC encourages the use of the campaign material for starting a discussion with anyone, especially youth in the province.
