Elderly Man Killed After Struck by Car in Prince George

An elderly man was killed in Prince George after he was struck by an on-coming vehicle. The Prince George RCMP and the B.C. Coroners Service are continuing their investigation into the fatal pedestrian collision, involving a 75 year old man.

At approximately 6:54 p.m., on Saturday January 24th, the Prince George RCMP received a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle along the 17000 block of Spruce Street. RCMP, Prince George Fire and Rescue, and the B.C. Ambulance Service all attended the scene.

The elderly man was transported to the University Hospital of Northern B.C. via ambulance. The 75 year old later succumbed to his injuries that were sustained in the collision. According to RCMP, the man was not from Prince George. Details regarding his identity have yet to be released.

From the evidence gathered, it appears the victim was in close proximity to his parked vehicle when he was struck by a passing vehicle. The male driver of the vehicle stopped and remained at the scene. The investigation is on-going.
