Vancouver Company Promotes Urban Gardening

A Vancouver company has launched an online crowdfunding campaign with the goal of getting urban residents to grow their own food.

Ribox Balcony is a modern, raised planter box that can help grow organic food in the smallest space. The concept is simple, and is the result of Vancouverites wanting to grow their own food, but they were stuck with a limited amount of space and the wrong type of planter. The planter itself has a unique, sustainable design that is made from recycled plastics, and uses aluminum and tempered glass.

The elevated box can fit on most urban indoor and outdoor spaces and includes custom soil trays and seeds. Practically anything can be grown in the box including vegetables, herbs, flowers and fruit.

The Ribox team just launched the online campaign this week with the goal of raising $25,000 and has 25 days to do it. It’s a modern idea that can not only improve your health but also reconnects people to where their food comes from and how it is grown.
